HOW TO MAKE DIY NECKLACE FROM PISTAHIO SHELLS?

This DIY project is inspired by my favorite dry fruit :Pistachios! After creating a pile of shells on my plate, I could not help but notice what a pretty and elegant shape they had. Instead of throwing them in the trash, it is time to put them to use! By adding some paint, pistachio shells turn into such a beautiful and adorable ornaments for creating jewelry. You have to be creative and explore different colors. And you can also it to a step further by making matching bracelet, earrings or an anklet.It is especially great for summers! It will give you a gradient look and you are going to love it!

LET’S GET STARTED WITH THIS EASY TUTORIAL TO MAKE YOUR OWN DIY NECKLACE FROM PISTACHIOS SHELLS.

HERE’S WHAT YOU WILL NEED :

  1. Pistachio shells around 30 to 35
  2. Small piece of thin cardboard
  3. Glue gun or feviquick
  4. Acrylic paint
  5. Mod podge
  6. Brush
  7. Chain
  8. Jump rings
  9. Needle nose pliers
  10. Scissors

FOLLOW THEĀ  PROCEDURE GIVEN BELOW TO MAKE THIS DIY NECKLACE FROM PISTACHIO SHELLS.

PROCEDURE :

Step 1 : Cut the small piece of thin cardboard into a semi circle to serve as the base of the necklace.

Step 2 : Attach jump rings at the corners of the cardboard and attach the chain.

Step 3 : Paint pistachio shells witch your favorite colors. Try to use multiple shades of any color of your choice. Let the first coat dry and add 2-3 additional coats so that the shells are completely covered.

Step 4 : Once the paint is completely dry, add a thin coat of decoupage medium to seal in the paint and add shine.

Step 5 : Let dry and start gluing the shells onto the cardboard with the bottom layer and working your way in.
