HOW TO MAKE DIY JELLYFISH LANTERN?

I remember the day when I visited aquarium for the very first time, I was just amazed by the colors and the textures of the marine animals.This DIY jellyfish lantern would be great decoration for your home or even for an under under the sea themed party! So be ready with paper strings and paper mess all over your craft area.Jellyfishes are some of the coolest creatures of the sea world. They have mesmerizing tentacles and the most beautiful iridescent colors. These floating jellyfish lanterns are a great to decorate a kid’s room with an ocean theme or even a playroom or birthday party! So without wasting much time let’s get started.

LET’S GET STARTED WITH THIS EASY TUTORIAL TO MAKE YOUR OWN DIY JELLYFISH LANTERN.

HERE’S WHAT YOU WILL NEED :

  1. 10 inch paper lanterns
  2. 1 and half inch width fabric ribbon
  3. 3/8 inch width fabric ribbon
  4. 5/8 inch width transparent fabric ribbon
  5. 3/16 inch width curling ribbon in 2 or more different colors; one should be iridescent
  6. White thread or fishing line for hanging
  7. Glue gun
  8. Scissors

FOLLOW THE PROCEDURE GIVEN BELOW TO MAKE THE DIY JELLYFISH LANTERNS.

PROCEDURE :

Step 1 : Start by folding the wire structure that will open your paper lantern so when you built it, it would look more like an oval than a circle.

Step 2 : glue the 1 and half inch fabric ribbon around the lantern. I folded the ribbon a few times to give it an undulating effect.

Step 3 : For the tentacles, cut a few strings of fabric ribbons approximately 35 inches long. Use semi transparent fabric ribbon and two or three different shades of colors to give them an iridescent effect.

Step 4 : glue the tentacles all round the jellyfish.

Step 5 : Hang them on the wall or ceiling using white thread or clear fishing line.
